After the announcement of a partnership between Alphabet X’s Driverless Technology Group (Google’s holding company) and Fiat Chrysler from May this year, we spotted the first cars. Six of the rumored 100 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid minivans were delivered and are being equipped with driverless car technology at the Google-site.
Two of the cars seem already to be equipped with the sensors. The visible technology includes Lidar, several radars, laser- and camera-systems. Four of the cars seem to wait for being equipped, and one was currently worked on in the inside.
These cars are representing the fourth generation of vehicles, after the Toyota Prius, Lexus and the Minicars. Latter ones are electric and were constructed and designed with German Tier 1 supplier Bosch.
