USPS Vehicle Spotted With LiDAR

This US postal service vehicle was spotted equipped with a LiDAR on the corner Bush Street / W. Dana Street in Mountain View, CA on October 31st, 2020. Any idea what USPS is trying to accomplish?

  2. Maybe someone figured out that mail trucks drive everywhere so instead of paying drivers to create maps they worked out a deal with the USPS to collect map data for them.
