Another day, another challenging drive with the Tesla Full Self Driving (FSD) software version V12.3.6. I wanted to really test it in the city and therefore used it on inner-city streets with lots of traffic, pedestrians, but also with a section of highway. The journey took just under 27 minutes, starting with a manual exit from a street parking space on Green Street.
The drive itself didn’t require a single intervention from me, not a single corrector. However, I still have to touch the steering wheel every 20 to 30 seconds, which is a kind of dead man’s switch, to check that I’m still paying attention.
However, there were a few interesting moments. The first was at around 8:40, when the interior camera apparently noticed my carelessness and told me to stay alert.

Then the one at 12:17, when the vehicle was briefly unsure how to take the slip road onto the highway. I had already brought my hand to the steering wheel to correct it, but that wasn’t necessary as the vehicle was already correcting itself. The third moment was a display of a vehicle parked on the road that I had not noticed before. The vehicle owner had the passenger door open and this vehicle is also visualized on the touchscreen with the door open (from 23:18). The fourth interesting moment was the automatic deceleration at a speed bump (from 26:35).

I was also surprised at how quickly the FSD took the freeway on-ramp. Also, at one point in the video, I increase the maximum speed from 25 miles per hour to 29 miles per hour so that I didn’t remain a rolling obstacle. Mind you, the speed limit was 25 miles per hour (40 km/h).
This ride started at about 2pm PST from corner Green Street and Embarcadero and ended in front of the Noe Café on Sanchez Street in San Francisco. The distance is about 5.7 miles (9.12 kilometers), takes typically about 20-25 minutes and includes city streets and highway.
Here is the uncut video in the original speed:
