Mercedes Versus Tesla Level 2-System: The Race Isn’t Even Close

In the last few days I had already shown the Tesla FSD in version 12.3.6. on a 27-minute drive through San Francisco, which took place without intervention. Then Whole Mars Catalog brought a test drive with the Mercedes EGS with the Level 2 Drive Pilot and recreated the same drive with the Tesla. Officially, the Tesla FSD is a Level 2 system where a driver must be able to take control at all times.

The drive takes place on a relatively slow drive on a suburban road with some bends, intersections and stop signs and Whole Mars Catalog counted the interventions. The result of the comparison must be shocking – for any Mercedes fan. Because 44 interventions in the almost twenty-minute drive in the Mercedes, i.e. every half minute, cast doubt on the functionality of the driver assistance system. The Tesla FSD, on the other hand, masters all driving situations brilliantly and does not require a single intervention.
