Waymo Avoids Collision with Woman Falling off from an eScooter

How safe are autonomous cars? Facts and figures may provide a good initial insight, but nothing demonstrates the safety of robotaxis like dangerous situations from everyday driving practice that have been handled with confidence.

In this video posted by Waymo Co-CEO Dmitri Dolgov, we see a Waymo Robotaxi on the road in Austin when suddenly a female eScooter driver trips over an obstacle on the road wheel and falls in front of the Waymo. The Waymo reacts with lightning speed and avoids the woman.
