What has not bothered mankind for decades, namely that you have to get out of the car to fill up, operate the fuel pump and insert the tap into the filler neck, is viewed differently with electric cars. Here, too, drivers no longer want to have to get out and plug in. Of course, this also has to do with the emergence of autonomous cars, which are robots that want to be operated and charged by a robot.
Autovoltek, a company based in Aliso Viejo, California, is presenting a small charging robot designed for the home garage at CES 2025 in Las Vegas. The robotic arm, which is mounted on small rollers, approaches the vehicle’s charging port and inserts the plug. You still need a little patience, as it can take up to two minutes for the robot to find its target and start charging.
It is currently possible to pre-order an Autovoltek charging robot for Tesla vehicles with CCS and NACS standards.
