The young electric car manufacturer Rivian, based in Irvine, California, has already caused a sensation with the R1S SUV and R1T pickup. This has not gone unnoticed by other car manufacturers. A few months ago, Volkswagen entered into a partnership with Rivian to acquire a stake in the young manufacturer’s software. Amazon also holds shares in the company and has ordered 100,000 of the electric delivery vans and has already received several tens of thousands of them.
While the first production run was previously reserved exclusively for Amazon, pre-orders for the Delivery 500 and Delivery 700 are now possible for other fleet operators, as Rivian announced in an email.
