Zoox To Start Test Drives in Los Angeles

This week, Zoox will begin test drives in Los Angeles. This is the sixth location after San Francisco, Las Vegas, Seattle, Austin, Miami and the Bay Area where the Foster City-based Amazon subsidiary has its test vehicles in operation.

Initially, Zoox will deploy a small number of the retrofitted test vehicles (Toyota Highlander) equipped with safety drivers in a small area of Greater Los Angeles. The navigation maps will be created first before the autonomous test drives begin in the summer.
