Waymo Applies for New York City Test License

Waymo has applied for a test license for New York City from the local transport authority. This test license is one in which a safety driver sits behind the wheel. NYC has so far resisted such test drives. Waymo is also seeking talks with the state of New York in order to get the relevant legislation for driverless driving passed.

Waymo has already carried out test drives to record the navigation maps in the past.
