Two Waymos Collide in Phoenix

How safe are robotaxis? According to the figures, much safer than human drivers. When a robotaxi is involved in a collision, more than 90 percent of the time the human driver is at fault. However, a collision has now occurred in Phoenix in which the Waymo was clearly at fault. Two Waymos collided with each other. Apart from sheet metal and the ego of the Waymo developers, nothing else was damaged.

The collision occurred at Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport at this location: 2323 E Sky Harbor Circle North West Commercial Transportation Hold Lot.

What I’m not sure about is whether this is only the second accident in history between two autonomous cars? The first accident happened at the DARPA Urban Challenge in 2007, where a Cornell University vehicle was hit by the MIT vehicle.
