Waymo robotaxis are now rapidly rolling out in more and more cities and metropolitan areas. This week’s announcements include four cities where the first public passengers can call Waymos, as well as two cities where preparations for robotaxi operations have begun.
The four cities with initial passenger service are Dallas, Houston, and San Antonio in Texas, and Orlando in Florida. Preparations are beginning in Chicago, Illinois, and Charlotte, North Carolina. This means that Waymo now has active robotaxi fleets in 10 cities (actually 11, if you count San Jose in the San Francisco Bay Area) where Google’s sister company operates.
