Unidentified British Test Vehicles Spotted in Paris

A dedicated reader of this blog, Jean-Christophe Smal, sent me these photos of two test vehicles equipped with lidar, cameras, and other sensors that were driving around Paris’s 10th arrondissement. What’s interesting is that these vehicles have British license plates and stickers with text in both German and English. Here are the additional details Jean-Christophe sent:

For the past two weeks, a colleague of mine has been seeing vehicles equipped with sensors driving around central Paris (10th arrondissement).

The vehicles have British license plates and stickers in English and German, or references to NVIDIA.

The photos were taken on Rue de Paradis, near number 35. The vehicles were coming from Rue du Faubourg Saint-Denis or Rue de la Fidélité. The Jaguar was seen twice during the week, the Range Rover once. The Jaguar drove around the block, going down Rue du Faubourg Poissonnière, then Rue des Petites Écuries, and finally up Rue d’Hauteville.

Does anyone know more details—specifically, which company is testing what here? It doesn’t seem to be for mapping purposes, because the sensor configurations would be different for that.
