Tensor Receives Driverless Test License for San Jose

The San Jose-based self-driving car company Tensor has received permission from the California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) to test its driverless cars throughout the city of San Jose in southern Silicon Valley. The cars may be tested at any time of day or night, in mild and clear weather conditions as well as light rain, and at speeds of up to 45 miles per hour (72 km/h) without a driver in the vehicle.

Tensor is the first company to bring an autonomous car, a robocar, explicitly designed for private use to market.
