Fast & Furious 8: Using Autonomous Cars as Weapon

With the availability of autonomous cars, cyber security becomes an important topic. The misuse of webcams to conduct a Distributed Denial of Service-attack (DDoS) a few weeks ago demonstrated the vulnerability of internet infrastructure.

Now with two ton autonomous robots – and that’s what an autonomous cars is – this moves into a completely new dimension. In the latest trailer of the movie hit series Fast & Furious we see how the villain takes control of thousands of autonomous cars and uses them in a kamikaze-style attack to literally throw themselves onto a target.

The question is, if such and other scenarios are realistic, and if yes, how we can prevent them from happening?
