Pony.AI in Fremont and Chinese company TuSimple are the latest entrants to the long list of organizations that received a license to test autonomous vehicles on public streets in California. The state’s DMV listed the companies today as 32nd and 33rd entity with such a license.
According to documents Pony.AI was founded on April 6th, 2017. The company describes itself on its website with “Pony.ai is a start-up in the heart of Silicon Valley. We are creating artificial intelligence solutions in robotics.”
TuSimple has its research location San Diego, CA, the headquarter is in Beijing. The company develops technology on computer vision and AI for self-driving trucks. Its mission is according to the website as follows: “TuSimple rethinks the new possibilities of autonomous driving technology. Our mission is to set a new standard on safety, reliability, and efficiency in the trucking industry.”
