Mountain View-based Xmotors.ai, a subsidiary of Chinese electric car startup Xiaopeng Motors, received a test license for autonomous cars from the California DMV. This makes them the 57th company with such an active license in the state.
While there is not yet much known about their development efforts, the company is hiring in Mountain View.
It seems that the company is using the parent company’s electric SUV Xpeng G3 as a base for developing autonomous technology. An interesting feature is a 360 degree camera on top of the roof.
