Tesla Berlin Receives Permit For Test Production of 2,000 Vehicles

The start of production of the Tesla Gigafactory Berlin-Grünheide comes within reach. As Tobias Lindh reported this Saturday, the State Office for the Environment of the State of Brandenburg granted Tesla permission to produce a total of 2,000 units of each part car bodies, with a maximum of 500 units per week over a period of 8 weeks. The plant may not be in operation for more than 8 hours per day. The same requirements apply to the paint shop. These produced vehicles may not be run.

This permit is used to test the production facility and train employees.

Pictures of about three dozen Model Ys on the company’s premises in Berlin have already surfaced in recent days, indicating initial production test runs (see the following video by Tobias Lindh starting at 11:05):
