Encounters With Waymo Robotaxis in San Francisco

They weren’t at the depot, because they’re on the road: Waymo’s robotaxis based on the battery-electric Jaguar iPaces (which, by the way, are made in Austria, but without the self-driving technology internals). Here are a whole bunch of sightings of the Waymo Robotaxis I had around Columbus Ave in San Francisco, an area where Chinatown and Little Italy come together.

Also note the bursts of light on the LiDARs in the dark.

In addition to Waymos, there are many Zoox and GM Cruise vehicles on the road there, a very popular test area for autonomous cars in these very busy streets.
