Apple’s Experimental Vehicle from Close Up

Several times I’ve seen Apple’s autonomous test vehicles – the ones with the oversized iPad on the roof – but only while they were driving. Today, however, I saw one parked in front of a supermarket and was able to take pictures of it up close for the first time. The driver wasn’t allowed to tell me which company it was, but it’s common knowledge that it’s an Apple vehicle.

This autonomous test vehicle from Apple was spotted at the Cherry Chase Shopping Center on 639 S Bernardo Ave in Sunnyvale on Friday, March 4th, 2022 at 9:30am.

  1. Did you get int close on the portals on each side of the giant box on top? What we see here looks like 4 close-in lidar pucks, two rear radars, a wheel encoder (old school!) and presumably the box has more cameras, lidars and radars. Odd that the box is so giant. If you can take a flash picture in the portal it might show something. Or, if you have a camera with no infrared filter it will also show things.
