Waymo Now With 250,000 Driverless Rides per Week

Within a year, Waymo has increased its number of driverless and paid robotaxi rides fivefold. Whereas in May 2024 the number was 50,000 per week, in April 2025 it was 250,000 in the current areas of operation. These are San Francisco, parts of the San Francisco Bay Area, Los Angeles, Austin and Phoenix. Miami, Atlanta and Washington D.C. are now to follow as the next metropolitan regions. Waymo has also started test drives in Tokyo, its first international region.
