Waymo’s Remaining Stock of Jaguar iPaces Has Fallen Sharply. Are New Vehicle Models On The Way?

Within a month, the stock of Jaguar iPaces on the grounds of the Waymo factory in Mesa, a suburb of Phoenix, Arizona, has decreased significantly. There, the electric vehicles, which are still without sensors and processors but are already prepared for them, are equipped with Waymo Driver hardware.

An aerial photograph shows the inventory of unfinished vehicles, which stood at around 1,500 in May, has now shrunk significantly between July and August.

JJRicks, who has documented many of his Waymo rides on YouTube, posted a picture with a more accurate count of the remaining vehicles, which he estimates to be just under 600.

There are also a few vehicles on the side of the factory building:

There is now speculation that, at this rate, Waymo (and its partner Magna) will have used up the remaining stock in a few weeks and the vehicles will be ready for use. They may be deployed in Miami, Atlanta, and Washington, D.C., or they may slowly replace older vehicles that have already clocked up a significant number of miles.

But what will happen at the factory when the Jaguar iPace, which has not been in production since December 2024, is fully equipped? Are the announced Zeekr or Hyundai Ioniq 5 vehicles already in the process of being delivered, and does space need to be made for them?
