These photos were taken by Fabian Vihl—who organizes business trips to various innovation hubs—during three visits to Guangzhou, China, in May 2023, May 2026, and September 2026, when he visited the WeRide headquarters with a delegation.
Here you can also see a remote monitoring system that is not used for teleoperation—that is, remote control—but rather for monitoring. Only in an emergency can this console be used to maneuver the vehicle out of a difficult situation for a brief moment at a maximum speed of 5 km/h.
