The startup born out of the Stanford AI Lab named Drive.ai is currently operating seven autonomous test vehicles in California. In 2017 the company drove – according to the Disengagement Report 2017 – 6,000 miles.
One of their car is not a regular sedan, but a sprinter with sensor mounts in the front area of the roof. The sensors included four Lidars and cameras. The front grill also featured a Velodyne puck Lidar.
