As soon as the sun is out, also the flocks of autonomous cars are roaming the streets. And one of them is Chinese startup AutoX that currently is focusing on autonomous delivery vehicles. While the company started out with the philosophy of “cameras only” – not using any LiDARs, and instead use cameras as the main sensors – the company in the meantime switched to “cameras first” – LiDARs are OK, but cameras are the most important sensor.
From the first vehicles with sensors being scotch-taped to the vehicles, to the now smooth looking, froggie green cars, this has been a long way for AutoX.
