Our reader Stephen Clonts sent us this picture of a Toyota Highlander with Californian license plate. The vehicle that is equipped with some unusual LiDAR and camera mounts was spotted in front of a Best Western hotel in Ontario, CA. The LiDAR-arrangement could be pointing it to be a mapping vehicle for self-driving cars.
As always we appreciate any tips which company that could be.

Tilting the main velodyne back is quite odd. The only cars I have seen do that are mapping cars, but this does not seem to be one. They must have another sensor for direct forward to want to tilt it like that.

I was thinking the same. Also the LiDARs on the side are tilted.
