After a turbulent first phase characterized by a lot of enthusiasm, the bursting of a financing round and a crowdfunding initiative that brought 50 million euros into the coffers, things have become somewhat calmer around the German electric car start-up Sono Motors.
With many innovative concepts, such as moss growth for the cabin filter, a lightweight construction and solar panels on the outside of the vehicle, the cute car found its fans. After the turbulence, some prophets of doom have already predicted the end of another promising German automobile start-up, as has happened to street scooters.
All the more pleasing are the pictures and messages that appear drop by drop on Twitter and LinkedIn, showing wiring harnesses, vehicle frames and the Sono Motors team working on the Sion’s first test vehicles. We’re still a long way from series production, but the fact that things are moving forward is encouraging.
