What is fascinating about electric cars is the torque with which the cars can accelerate and beat (almost) any internal combustion vehicle. Already n the first analyses – among others by Sandy Munro – the peculiar construction with magnets was admired. Now the YouTube channel Lean Engineering has published a video where they go into the specifics of the design and why. They explain the torque when starting and the reduction of energy losses when going downhill.
