Slowly but surely, German companies are also entering the race for autonomous vehicles. Robin Engelhardt on Twitter posted a photo yesterday of an ID.Buzz with sensor setups that was on the road in Munich. The ID.Buzz is the battery-electric reimagining of the VW Bus, in a lineup with the ID.3 and ID.4.
The vehicle pictured will be used to test autonomous (and certainly electric) driving technology, and is expected to enter test fleet operation from 2025. The self-driving technology comes from the American company Argo.ai, in which VW holds a stake.
