Tesla Receives Texas Approval for Cleaning Robots

When Tesla unveiled the Cybercab and the Robovan at the We, Robot event in 2024, a short video was also shown featuring a cleaning robot that was autonomously vacuuming the Cybercab and wiping down the central touchscreen. A few weeks later, Tesla released a longer video “narrated” by the cleaning robot, which described its activities in a cheeky manner.

Now Tesla is getting serious about this, as the company has received approval in Texas to operate such a robot. This robot will be stationed at Tesla’s robotaxi hub on E Ben White Blvd in Austin, where the Cybercabs are charged, maintained, and cleaned. This brings the hub one step closer to fully automated operations.
