Waymo Opens Office in South Korea

I missed that! That’s what happened with the news from late July that Google’s sister company, Waymo, had opened an office in Seoul, South Korea. It is expected that domestic certification will take at least 6 months, with mapping runs throughout Seoul starting. This is seen as the the groundwork for the Waymo partnership with Hyundai Motors. An driverless robotaxi service could be target for 2027.

Waymo now has offices in the following nine countries:

1. USA
2. Japan
3. England
4. Germany
5. France
6. Netherlands
7. Spain
8. Switzerland
9. South Korea
