Tesla Cybercab Challenged by Idiot

Probably the most unexpected behavior that robotaxis elicit is that they seem to magnetically attract idiots. Cruise founder Kyle Vogt already had a whole series of videos showing such brainless people jumping in front of autonomous cars to test them. While some of them might be excused due to the late hour and the idiots’ blood alcohol levels, many are not.

Take this footage from Austin in broad daylight, for example. We see one of these individuals repeatedly jumping from the sidewalk onto the street in front of a moving Tesla Cybercab robotaxi, bringing the Cybercab to a stop.

Note: The laws of physics and braking distance apply to autonomous cars as well.
