According to manager magazin, Waymo is preparing Berlin as the second German city—after Munich—for the launch of its robotaxi service. Internal documents obtained by the weekly magazine show how far discussions with the city administration have already progressed. Far enough, at any rate, that—as in Munich—the launch of the commercial driverless robotaxi service is targeted for 2027.
Up to 50 vehicles are expected to drive around the Berlin metropolitan area to create the necessary navigation maps before a robotaxi service can be launched.
