Following in the footsteps of the German supermarket chain Lidl, the snack manufacturer Lorenz, based in Offenbach, Hesse, is also putting Einride’s autonomous trucks into service.
Four driverless, autonomous electric vehicles are now transporting finished goods, raw materials, and empty pallets between the production facility and the central warehouse. They handle up to 1,200 pallets daily, powered entirely by electricity from the plant’s own photovoltaic system. According to Lorenz, this is not a pilot project but is intended to be integrated into ongoing plant operations in the long term and to transform the company’s logistics.
