Renault-Nissan self-driving car in Silicon Valley

Renault-Nissan is the next car maker that released a video of a self-driving car on the roads of Silicon Valley. CEO Carlos Ghosn describes in a blog-post his experience as a (non-)driver of a prototype on the base of an Infiniti Q50.

The car is driving streets in Sunnyvale and Moutain View, once seen turning from Castro Street right on El Camino Real, as well as a drive on Highway 101. The Renault-Nissan Alliance has announced ten models with ‘significant autonomous functionality‘ for 2020.

Renault and Nissan are among the few OEMs that show serious efforts in other areas of the new automotive industry as well. Both Nissan with the Leaf and Renault with the Zoe have two cars in their offering that count to the most successful electric vehicles.
