Silicon-Valley-based Gatik.AI is the latest entity to receive a California test license for autonomous driving. The startup was founded by three Carnegie Mellon University alumni and was part of the third mobility batch of Plug & Play TechCenter in winter 2017, as well as the most recent AngelPad batch. Their focus is on last mile delivery vehicle in urban environments.
At the same time Uber lost its test license for California. It expired with March 31st. After the fatal crash in Tempe, Arizona, Uber has temporarily suspended all tests.
With that the number of companies with such a test license remains at 52.
