New Waymo LiDAR Spotted

This Waymo with a new LiDAR on the roof top and sensor setup was spotted on Sunday April 21st, 2019 at around 10:30am on Castro Street in Mountain View. The signage on the car side says “Waymo Engineering”, pointing at a development vehicle in contrast to the usual Waymo robotaxis seen in Mountain View.

The details show that the whole setup seems different, with cameras now mounted both on the left and right side above the front tires, where so far only the Laser Bear-LiDAR was mounted. Also the LiDAR in the back moved from the bumper up to the back window, and also shows radars on each side.
