It’s been coming and now it has happened. Tesla’s market capitalization has not only broken through the 100 billion dollar barrier, but has also simultaneously overtaken Volkswagen, the last German automobile company in value.
While Tesla’s share price had already risen by more than 20 percent in the early morning hours, VW lost almost 1 percent. This put Tesla’s market valuation at over 102 billion dollars, while VW’s was valued at 99.6 billion (€89.867 billion).
