The delivery date for Rivian’s first battery electric pickups is approaching. If nothing else, we can tell by the increasing number of photos surfacing of these vehicles. Like this one of an R1T that has been spotted with an Illinois manufacturer’s plate in Laguna Beach, California, near Los Angeles.
Rivian is based in Plymouth, Michigan, with offices in San Jose and Irvine, both in California, among other cities. Amazon has awarded a major contract to Rivian that includes 100,000 electric delivery vehicles. Amazon, founded by Jeff Bezos, is also an early investor in Rivian.
The first pickups are scheduled for delivery in September 2021.
